y work is generally concerned with a wide range of themes such as gender, television, social behaviours etc...
I am becoming increasingly concerned with ideas of innocence/experience as embodied within childhood where the seemingly innocent can hide darker themes. Are child's play and innocence affected by contemporary concerns such as the impact of video violence or the Jamie Bulger's case?
I tend to work with colour more than black and white as I feel it suits the themes of my work. The photographs are constructed in the studio or on location according to the theme explored. Different techniques are used in the darkroom such as reversed colours, toned prints and photograms. I have also worked with polaroids, photoshop and premiere.
Photography is also an interesting means of expression when combined with text and sound. Moving images will be one of the many directions I would be interested to explore with my future projects.
