here are basic elements that feature in my paintings:Power, Passion and Movement.
I feel a union of abstraction and formalism suits the objectives of my work.Which is to look to the physical as means to improving the human condition. The weakness and decadence of the modern age is very dis_spiriting,I find.Without a harder core, a personal discipline how can the advantages of civilisation be addressed?Learning.culture,refinement.My physical experiences are the starting point for my expression of this philosophy.
There are many things I like about .both relation to life and art.Having lived so long in another country I find it fascination to wonder at why people are as they are .Any "artist's statement' can only give the briefest to thumbnail indications of what its all about, for I don't really know. The ideas that behind my images come from a range of influences, philosophers:Voltarire.Shaw,Nietzsche: artists like,Nolan,Kandinsky.Pollock,Turner,Marc,Szenassy, plus ever increasing and too numerous to mention group of others. |
