_

am largely self  taught. having made the transition from lawyer to artist a few years ago and
am a figurative painter, working with oils and metallic leaf. Part of my work reflects my love for and involvement with people I have met on my travels mainly in Africa
, India, the Caribbean and Latin America, rich in tradition and culture. In the colours and leafs I use I work to enhance their vibrancy, and I draw inspiration from their world of ancient religions and traditions, from their art and music, from their wonderful spirituality and sensuality.

My other work is magical and exotic and allows me to escape a bit from the everyday world into a more special place, a world of colour and symbol, where the characters are players on another stage. I have always been fascinated by the world of dreams and the spirit worlds favoured by some cultures, and this fascination is reflected here.
