y interest in 2D art began late in life, as a hobby. After a year of self education, I enrolled in evening classes at my local college of art.

Subsequent to a presentation of my work to a tutors panel, I was accepted onto a an Art Foundation Course. I descovered an extensive and diverse history of art and encounterd and ebbraced the work of contemporaary artists such as Klee, de Kooning, Dubuffet, Basquiat and others to numerous to mention.

I gained a distunction in all categories and was awarded a special certificate for "Outstanding Personal Progression, National Diploma of Art and Design", upon the completion of my course.

My artwork celebrates the primitive rather than the civilised. It draws upon and explores my experiences of contemporary culture, the spirituality of the natural world and the oppressive and destructive elements of organised religion.
