y interest in the Arts and Design led me ten years ago to begin producing my own work. For me clay is an all consuming passion through which I feel most able to express myself.
I make mainly one-off, hand built ceramic pieces which are sculptural rather than functional. Forms and textures, inspired by the landscape, are realised by pushing the plastic quality of clay to extremes, whilst colour from various oxides and carbonates provides endless possibilities for artistic expression.
I am currently working on a new series of sculptural forms inspired by geological formations, ancient standing stones, and the spiral.
