aite Baron's background in fashion and textiles informs her work; memories and sketches collected from her travels to China, Japan, Malaysia. Thailand, India and Nepal are often the starting point of the work. The images and colours of the Orient are the artist palette, which she uses to represent abstract work to reinforce the human spiritual form. Maite has always been interested in printing and painting. Often she was accused of making "painterly prints."
She enjoys experimenting and mixing different disciplines and media in her work, from very sensual and delicate paper structures to dramatic mixed media prints.
