| Davison, John (Fine Art) E & J John and his Japanese wife, Mari, were the most steadfast of members of EWACC. They never missed our monthly meetings. John's water colour paintings are brilliant and were gaining many admirerers. At Christmas 1996, John suddenly passed away just before our first members' joint exhibition. He was looking forward to showing his works there. |

They trained under Mr Kurumaya, one of the top Taiko masters in Japan. After returning to Britain, they formed Mugenkyo with two other British members. | Shizume, Moriharu (Fine Art) E & J Moriharu Shizume was the first Japanese who crossed the Pacific Ocean from yokohama to San Francisco in a small yacht (the four other crew members were American) in 1952. Then he decided to stay in USA and studied painting. Later his experience in France, Italy and Great Britain draws him nearer to his Japanese roots and helps him develop a distinct own style. He held exhibitions all over the world In 1997, he held the special exhibition, "Paris, New York to Kyoto" in Japan to commemorate his 40 years career as a painter. |
