Davison, John

John and his Japanese wife, Mari, were the most steadfast of members of EWACC. They never missed our monthly meetings.
John's water colour paintings are brilliant and were gaining many admirerers.
At Christmas 1996, John suddenly passed away just before our first members' joint exhibition. He was looking forward to showing his works there.

Performing as a pair, Marbee and Mimilin appear on many stages and work with young designers, artists and other creators. They provide creative inspiration to many who come to see them. Their artistic message is disseminated on the radio, TV, and in articles, and many people identify with their artistic sensitivity and lifestyle. They perform not only in Japan but also abroad and have collaborated with artists from many fields.

Mugenkyo

Our members Neil Mackie and Miyuki Williams are the founders of Mugenkyo, Europe's first and only professional Taiko drum group. They trained under Mr Kurumaya, one of the top Taiko masters in Japan. After returning to Britain, they formed Mugenkyo with two other British members. You may know the story of how Mugenkyo have since developed and become one of the most popular performers in the UK and Europe .........

There are many Japanese musicians active abroad but probably we can find no other but this man who so continues to realise his dream which will surely encourage many young Japanese who wish to follow their dreams. This man is Hank Sasaki....'a cowboy from Japan'- (his own appellation) and decided to become a real country & western singer. He moved to Nashville, the mecca of Country & Western music in the USA........

Shizume, Moriharu

Moriharu Shizume was the first Japanese who crossed the Pacific Ocean from yokohama to San Francisco in a small yacht (the four other crew members were American) in 1952. Then he decided to stay in USA and studied painting. Later his experience in France, Italy and Great Britain draws him nearer to his Japanese roots and helps him develop a distinct own style. He held exhibitions all over the world In 1997, he held the special exhibition, "Paris, New York to Kyoto" in Japan to commemorate his 40 years career as a painter.

Suzuki, Koichi

Without art school training at any , he started painting in his early twenties. After becoming establised in Japan, he decided to go to Paris to show his works which was his life-long dream in his all life. Can you imagine what happened when he moved to Paris. In his first year there, his work won one of the top prizes and in the second year he was recommended and became a member of 'Salon D'Automne' and .......................
